You have come into the world so tiny, Yet with such great promise for the future.Before you were even born,God planned wonderful things for you.As you are baptised,May you feel His love And the love of those around you, And may you always follow in His way.

I needed to try my lights on a white dress for a First Communion portrait session, and I had the great idea of getting my baby all dressed up in her beautiful Baptism gown, and take a couple pictures of her....It was a 2 minute session, and these are the results...!

Starting a new Adventure in my mom's honor!

I must start saying that I am not a writer, this is not even my language, so expect a lot of mistakes and spanglish phrases! I am a professional artist-muralist that loves photography...Loves children, loves people, loves making people happy...and most of all, loves family (the ones that God gave me by blood, and the ones that God gave me by destiny and by choise:my dear friends!)




My mom passed away last year. What I am doing now,-photography- is in her honor. She loved photos. She always said that pictures are a way of stopping time, life stops forever in an image, and when you look at it, you remember the feelings involved at that point of time...You can re-feel the happiness you once felt. That is what I pretend to do, make people happy by looking at this images created with love and artistry...they will make you smile, re-life, re-feel, over and over again. Have you ever look at a photo and it made you smile?, seeing your teenager as a little baby again, looking at your wedding pictures, how young and in love you are in those images that started a whole new chapter of your life, looking at a picture of the ones that you loved so much and are not here anymore....for one second make us transport ourselves to that beautiful moment...that is the magic of photography!

I have many pictures of my mom around the house, and now I feel that if haven't taken those pics of her, I wouldn't be able to re-experience the happiness I felt when I had her by my side...she won't be here with me no more, but I can smile when I see her -in pictures- and feel happy for those moments that are gone, that will never come back, that will never repeat themselves...This blog is for you mom, I know you are watching over me and my family, I love you mamita, forever and ever..This is in your honor Ana Maria Barandiaran Andersen de Ortega, mi mamita.

Now I am a mother, and now I know what is to love the way my mom loved me...My girls make me happy just because they exist!
